International Day of Yoga 2020
The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21st June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. International Day of Yoga also know as Yoga Day and World Yoga Day.

The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), on 27 September 2014. The first International Day of Yoga created a record for the largest yoga class, and another for the largest number of participating nationalities. The theme for this year’s 2020 International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family’. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to unite'. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the Universal, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Man & Nature.

Yoga is a spiritual process practiced in India and Nepal in which the work of bringing the body , mind and soul together. This word is related to meditation process in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Yoga word Buddhist Indian religion with China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka have also spread to people all the time civilized world are familiar with it. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice which gives calmness, peace, confidence and courage to the people through which they can do several activities in a better way. In the Gita, Shri Krishna has said, “At a place YOGA Karmasu Kaushalam”
